Star Building Materials has been sourcing, manufacturing, and supplying quality building materials since 1958. What began as a humble Calgary lumber yard has grown over more than 65 years into one of Western Canada’s largest and most progressive building materials suppliers, serving builders, developers, renovators, and homeowners. Our mission is to innovate within the construction industry—exploring new methods to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and help customers manage project costs.

In May, nearly 300 employees moved into our sprawling new campus in Rockey View County, located five minutes north of the Calgary airport. This 153,000 sq. ft. facility spans five buildings and is designed to streamline and advance our manufacturing of engineered wood products, trusses, wall panels, interior finishings, and lumber. The move marks an exciting new chapter for Star as we expand our ability to support Calgary’s fast-paced home construction market with dependable capacity and modernized operations.

We proudly operate in Rocky View County with a network of specialized spaces, including warehousing, an engineered wood saw shop, truss plant, wall panel plant, door shop, logistics building, and an expanded distribution yard.
